Brent Conservative Cllrs Reg Colwill and Joel Davidson, alongside Brent North Conservative Association Chairman Kanta Mistry today visited Ark Academy in Wembley.
The group was very warmly welcomed by Principal Delia Smith OBE, and received a comprehensive tour of the whole building. The facilities are excellent, and the children benefit from the huge investments made in the buildings from the Government over the years. The teachers and staff are committed to a positive learning environment for the children, and it's great to see an 'Outstanding' OFSTED-rate school in Brent.
Brent Conservatives would like to see the Council do more to encourage local businesses to engage with school leavers and encourage them in their career choices, which is particularly important in the new era of business rates devolution. Local companies should be seeing the potential benefits that younger people in Brent have to offer, and the Council's leadership need to do more to facilitate this.
The Government's introduction of T Levels is another positive step that will help to ensure that all children are receiving the best possible range of options.
Brent Conservatives are delighted to see Ark Academy doing so well, and we will be keen to support the school over the coming years.
